The Forgotten Fire: When Believers Stop Believing in Consequences

"The Dangerous Disconnect in Our Faith"

As believers, we boldly declare our faith in the reality of Heaven and Hell. We sing about eternal life, we preach about salvation, and we reference Hell as a real destination for those who reject Christ. But let's ask a hard question—if we truly believe in Hell, why don't we live like it?

Where is the urgency in our witness? Where is the compassion for the lost? Where is the holy fear of God that compels us to live righteously and speak truth in love?

Hell Is Not a Metaphor, It's a Reality!

Jesus spoke more about hell than anyone else in Scripture. He described it as a place of "outer darkness" (Matthew 8:12), "weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 13:42), and "eternal fire" prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41). Hell is not a scare tactic, it's a spiritual reality! And yet, we live as though people have all the time in the world. We treat the Gospel like an optional add-on instead of a lifeline. Our comfort has numbed our conviction.

Desensitized Disciples

Somewhere along the way, the fear of offending people replaced the fear of the Lord. We've exchanged boldness for political correctness and evangelism for entertainment. We don't speak up because we don't want to push people away, but in our silence, we leave them unprepared for eternity.

If we really believed in hell:

  • We would pray like lives depend on it—because they do.

  • We would live in holiness—not to earn salvation, but to reflect the One who saved us.

  • We would share Jesus, not just in church, but in everyday conversations.

The Gospel isn't just good news, it's urgent news!

The Eternal Cost of Comfort

We are stewards of eternal truth. Our lives are meant to be billboards of hope, warning signs of destruction, and guides toward the narrow path. But when we're more concerned with being liked than being light, we contribute to the silence that lets others slip into darkness. Comfort without conviction is dangerous! A watered-down gospel may win applause, but it won't save souls.

It's Time to Wake Up!

Hell is not a myth. It's not reserved for the "really bad people." It's the destiny of every soul that rejects Jesus Christ. So the question remains: If we believe in hell, why don't we live like it?

  • Why aren't we reaching the lost like time is running out?

  • Why aren't we discipling others like eternity is on the line?

  • Why aren't we fleeing sin like our lives depend on it?

Let this be a call to repentance, not just for the world, but for us as believers!

"Snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh."—Jude 1:23

Prophetic Charge

This is the hour for the church to wake up. Hell is real! Heaven is real! And eternity is closer than it seems! Let your life preach. Let your love warn. Let your fire burn.

Because if we truly believe in hell, then it's time we start living like heaven is our only mission.

Let Us Pray on One Accord! Reignite the Fire🔥

Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before You with hearts humbled and eyes opened. Forgive us for losing the urgency of eternity. Forgive us for preaching what we don't live. We declare today—let the fear of the Lord return to the church!

Let the fire that once burned in the hearts of the apostles be rekindled in us. Awaken our spirits from spiritual slumber. Shake us out of comfort and compromise. Deliver us from a passive faith that's more concerned with being accepted than being obedient.

We prophesy a revival of truth, conviction, and compassion. We call forth bold witnesses, uncompromised voices, and burning hearts who will snatch souls from the flames.

Let there be a holy discomfort in our silence, A divine disturbance in our delay, and a fresh anointing to preach, live, and love like eternity is at stake.

🔥 We declare: We believe in hell, and we will live like heaven is real. 🔥 We decree: The fire is returning to the altar, and we are the living sacrifice. 🔥 We cry out: Use us to warn, to win, and to worship until You come!

So let it be spoken, So let it be done, In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

YEILED,

Apostle Allen K. Hunter
